Why, Topshop, Why?

Oh, Topshop.

There's only so much hypothetical shopping I can do before the credit card comes out and I accidently place a Topshop order that will arrive two weeks later in that super excited spotted mail bag. Here's just a few things I've had my eyes on.

JTE

Gosh, the amazing Justin Townes Earle is playing in Wellington on the 25th. I'm so excited!!

The Strokes!

Nobody told me that they are awesome again.

Blue is Bashful

When I was in Melbourne I came across many many MANY wonderful vintage and indie clothing stores. My favourite was Blue is Bashful in Prahran. The sad irony was that I didn't visit the store until my last week in Melbourne. My wonderful and clued up friend told me to go there, but I didn't heed her advice until it was almost too late. However, while I was there I got myself a super cute and girly country shirt (the one in the first picture) and some music recommendations from the awesome guy that works there. If you ever find yourself south of the Yarra, make sure you pay Blue is Bashful a visit or visit them online here.

The beautiful pictures are mainly from the wonderful blog Fourzerofive.

Melbourne, je t'aime

I've been back in Wellington for over a month now. It's a weird feeling, knowing that an incredible time in my life has come and gone. But that's a horribly pessimistic way of looking a things. I'm involved in plenty of exciting things in Wellington and I really want to be here. Still, there's plenty of things I will miss about the beautiful city of Melbourne; the markets, the amazing weather, hot guys, Carlton, well dressed people, incredible food, lots of parks, trams, Sportsgirl, Federation Square, the terraced houses, shopping villages, my amazing and irreplaceable flatmates, shoe stores that actually had variety, getting a 'pot' of beer, bikes, the sushi rolls, indie clothing stores like Blue is Bashful (swoon!), argh, the list just goes on and on.

Some of the things I love about Melbourne will grace this blog over the next wee while.

To get us started here's some photographs of my favourite buildings in North Melbourne, my old neighbourhood.

Greenberg

I'm currently watching Greenberg. It's good. Although, I can never shake the feeling that Noah Baumbach (the film's director) is Wes Anderson's less talented younger brother. I keep looking for motifs or characters or themes that he's borrowed from Wes Anderson. I did it during the Squid and the Whale and I'm doing it again now. But I'm being super harsh. So far, it's a pretty good film.
